Arjuna is 60-80 feetlong evergreen  tree with a spreading crown and drooping branches.

An Ayurvedic cardioprotective herb being used in Ayurvedasince 2500 B.C. has remarkable cardioprotective, heart muscle strengtheningproperties. Ithas been proved in many researches that Arjuna is useful as an anti-ischemicand cardioprotective agent in hypertension and in ischemic heart disease,especially in disturbed cardiac rhythm.

Current scientific research has proved that Arjuna containsspecific medically active constituents namely triterpine glycosides likearjunetosides I, II, III, IV, arjunine and arjunetein. The bark is rich insaponnins, natural anti-oxidants (flavonoids-arjunone, arjunolone, leteilin)gallic acid, ellagic acid, oligomeric proanthocyanidins, and phytosterols, richin minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc and copper.
